Two definitions clearly differentiate one from another:


  • The Yacht Consultant offers their skills and services based on their knowledge and experience in a specific field, providing advice and knowledge that the client does not have.


  • The Marine or Yacht Surveyor is someone who measures, assesses, surveys, inspects, examines, and reports on the subject of survey based on the client's instructions.


Differences Between Consultant and Surveyor:


Consultants and surveyors serve different roles within various industries, particularly in fields such as real estate, construction, and maritime. Here are the key differences:


Consultant:

  • Role: Consultants provide expert advice and guidance on specific issues or projects. They analyze situations, offer strategic recommendations, and help clients make informed decisions.

  • Expertise: Consultants often specialize in a particular area, such as management, finance, environmental impact, or technology.

  • Engagement: Their involvement typically begins at the planning or conceptual stage of a project and can continue throughout its lifecycle.

  • Services Offered: Consultants may offer a wide range of services, including project management, risk assessment, and strategic planning.


Surveyor:

  • Role: Surveyors focus on measuring and assessing land, buildings, or on our case, vessels. They provide detailed reports on condition, value, and compliance with regulations.

  • Expertise: Surveyors usually have technical qualifications and certifications specific to their field, such as land surveying, building surveying, or marine surveying.

  • Engagement: Their work often occurs during the execution phase of a project, especially when compliance with regulations or standards is required.

  • Services Offered: Surveyors conduct inspections, valuations, and assessments, and prepare technical reports based on their findings.


Which can offer me the best support?


When to Hire a Consultant:

  • During the initial planning phases of a project where strategic advice is needed.
